Three airlifted after wreck on Whitesville Road

A wreck Tuesday night on Whitesville Road (Highway 219) resulted in three people being airlifted to Grady Hospital in Atlanta, according to a press release from the Georgia State Patrol.
Richard Brazil, 18, of LaGrange, Lindsey Bowles, 18, of LaGrange, and Doresa Gilder, 27, of Valley, Alabama, were all injured in the wreck, which occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. An update on their condition was not available on Thursday.
Brazil was the driver of a 2012 Mitsubishi Galant traveling south on Highway 219, and Bowles was the passenger in the vehicle, according to GSP. Gilder took the off the ramp to Whitesville Road in a 2011 GMC Terrain SLE.
GSP said Brazil allegedly failed to stop at a red traffic light and the Mitsubishi he was driving struck Gilder’s GMC in its front end. After the collision, the Mitsubishi was knocked into the northbound lanes. The GMC came to rest in the southbound lanes of Whitesville Road.
Charges are pending the completion of the investigation.
