School registration starts Wednesday for high schools
Although area children probably don’t want to hear it, the start of the school year is only a few days away.
The Troup County School System will hold registration starting Wednesday at each school and continuing into next week. Registration will take place for students in grades nine and twelve from noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday. It will continue Thursday from noon to 6 p.m. for students going into tenth and eleventh grade.
Elementary registration will be held Aug. 3 from noon to 6 p.m. and middle school registration will be Aug. 8 from noon to 6 p.m. To register, a parent’s picture identification is required, as is proof of residency. Items used for affidavit of residency include property tax records which indicate the location of the residence; property deed, mortgage documents or a security deed which indicates the location of the residence; apartment or home lease or rent receipt indicating the current address; current utility bill for electricity or utility application for electricity showing the current address; or current home telephone bill.
