Pure Life Studios will “Raise a Ruckus” on Sunday starting at 5 p.m. with musical stylings of local artists.

The concert will feature the musical talent of Callie Hammond and Nick Mayfield as they perform compositions ranging from blues to bluegrass to folk with fiddle, cello and guitar.

“Callie and Nick have pulled together one of the sweetest concerts at Pure Life Studios,” Pure Life Director Maggie McDonald said. “I work with teens and love the creativity of it all, but what Callie and Nick have done is brought a group of people together from ages 7 [on up] and has them playing together. Starting with a beginner song they all play then slowly dwindle the stage number down until only the advanced students are left on stage wailing away. It’s a beautiful thing.”

Admission is $5 and the performance will take place at 206 Clark St.

Market on Main will be hosting a farmer’s market featuring fresh produce and crafts courtesy of local vendors again on Saturday between 8 and 10 a.m. in the parking lot behind the movie theater.

Sims Pond Farms will likewise host a farmer’s market featuring local vendors, locally raised meat, fresh vegetables and more on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

New Community Church will host a backpack giveaway on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Community members are invited to come for worship before the 100 backpacks that are available are given away.

Finally, Church on the Hooch will take place on the right side of the river between buoys 51 and 49 near Highland Marina at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
