Deborah Gail McCord

Deborah Gail McCord, quietly and peacefully, passed away Monday at Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia.

Ms. McCord was born in West Point, GA May 24, 1954, to the late, Mr. Joseph and Mrs. Minnie McCord.

She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Gabbettville.

She graduated from Troup High School in 1972.

Upon her graduation, she attended Tuskegee Institute in Tuskegee, Alabama and received her B. S. W. Degree in Social Work; and the University of Georgia and received her M. S. W. Degree in Social Work.

She helped care for family members struggling with heath issues.

She enjoyed doing Church Missionary work including visitations, phone calls, prayers to home bound, hospitals and nursing homes, attending the Active Life Center, pets, and trying to live her life to the fullest and positive.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home. Rev. M. Cameron and B. Orr will officiate. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
