LAGRANGE – Chapel Hill’s second trip to Troup County went a lot better than its first.

Earlier this month, Chapel Hill traveled to Troup High for a Region 5-AAAA game and was handed an 8-4 loss.

On Tuesday, Chapel Hill was back in Troup County, this time to take on the LaGrange Lady Grangers in another region game.

Chapel Hill banged out 18 hits in four innings on the way to a 17-1 victory.

Despite the loss, LaGrange (10-4 overall) remains in a first-place tie in the region with a 3-1 record.

Central-Carroll, which won a state championship last season, is also 3-1, while Chapel Hill and Troup are 3-2.

LaGrange still has eight region games remaining leading up to the region tournament where the four state qualifiers will be determined.

LaGrange came into Tuesday’s game on a three-game winning streak, but it met its match in a Chapel Hill team that went 26-11 a year ago and reached the state quarterfinals.

Rylie Moodie had two of Chapel Hill’s 18 hits, including a home run that soared over the left-field fence in the second inning.

Shaq Sutton had a double, a triple, and LaGrange’s lone RBI.

LaGrange is off until Tuesday when it hosts Central-Carroll.
