LaGrange falls short at East Coweta

NEWNAN – The LaGrange Grangers put the wraps on the non-region portion of their schedule with a 42-10 loss to East Coweta on Friday.
LaGrange (0-4) will open its Region 5-AAAA schedule in two weeks with a home game against Central-Carroll.
After falling behind 21-0, LaGrange scored its first points of the season late in the first quarter on a Matt Rainey field goal.
Trailing 28-3 in the second quarter, Jakoby Smith threw a touchdown pass of about 25 yards to Jordan Ogletree, and Rainey’s extra point made it a 28-10 game.
East Coweta returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown to take a 35-10 lead at the break.
East Coweta scored a touchdown in the third quarter to cap the scoring.
