Plenty to do this weekend

The weather should be great on Saturday, so it’s a perfect chance to get outside and really enjoy the weekend in LaGrange.
Wild Leap Brew Co.’s opening highlights a weekend that should be fun for everyone. Anyone that drives around downtown regularly has probably been watching closely as renovation work was completed on the Westbrook Tire Building.
It’s only been eight months since the original plans for Wild Leap were officially unveiled, although it may have felt longer to locals awaiting the opening. The grand opening will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday and at last check, there were still a few tickets available.
If you want something to do after the grand opening, the Lafayette Theatre Company is performing ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ at the Lafayette Society for Performing Arts Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. The play is not for young children and would likely be rated R, according to organizers.
However, it sounds like the perfect show for a date night.
St. Nicholas Episcopal Church will hold its 15th annual LobsterFest from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will be held at Sweet Home Plantation Friday in Pine Mountain. Dinner will cost $60 a person and $5 for children’s hot dog meals.
And in between all of that, we encourage everyone to spend some time at Granger Park.
Improvements continue to be made at the park and this time of the year — right between the heat of summer and the cool of fall — is perfect for a day outdoors.
There’s plenty to do this weekend, and we hope to see you around.
