The Valley, Alabama Police Department continues to investigate a shooting Wednesday that resulted in the death of a Tuskegee woman.
Major Mike Reynolds with the Valley Police Department said when investigators arrived at a residence on the 4300 block of County Road 388, they found Judith Dawson, 55, lying in the driveway and dead of an apparent gunshot wound.
Reynolds said in a press release that preliminary reports are that Dawson and two other females went to the residence. Dawson had a confrontation with the homeowner and the homeowner’s son, 18-year-old Kyle Tassin of Valley.
During the confrontation, two shots were fired. A .22 rifle was seized from the residence and a .22 pistol was seized from the body of Dawson. Both weapons had been fired once, Reynolds said.
Once the on-scene investigation was completed, Reynolds said Tassin was brought to the Valley Police Department for questioning.
Reynolds said the investigation is still active and no warrants have been issued.
