As the temperatures swiftly turn cooler, Troup County’s residents are beginning to look for ways to really take advantage of the fall weather.

Tonight, Sweetland on Ice will open to the public following its grand opening today at 3:30 p.m. The rink will allow locals to ice skate at Sweetland Amphitheatre until February. Exact days and times can be found at Icedays.com/lagrange.

A few hours later, starting at 5 p.m. the LaGrange Downtown Development Authority will host a Holiday Sip & Shop complete with special sales, complimentary gift wrapping with purchases and food samples. Wine tasting will even be available for a $25 donation.

Those wishing to warm up and walk around will have the option of attending the LaGrange Mall’s Festive Five event on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. The event will feature local musical talent and is sure to provide plenty of entertainment.

However, if the perfect one of a kind gift is on your Christmas shopping list, Hogansville’s Holiday Sip ‘N’ Shop on Saturday starting at 5 p.m. may be just the thing with the selection of local vendors that has placed the town on the map serving free tastings alongside a variety of items.

Music lovers may appreciate the “We Gather Together” concert, which will be performed on Saturday and Sunday at First Presbyterian Church.

All of these events are just the tip of the iceberg for the weekend, and there are many more coming up in the next few weeks.
