Local foes meet on basketball court

The Lafayette Christian and LaGrange Academy basketball teams squared off on Thursday night.

In the girls’ game, it was LaGrange Academy winning 40-19, while Lafayette Christian won the boys’ game 53-33.

Keyshawn Russell and Ross Clifton each scored 15 points for Lafayette Christian in the boys’ game.

OJ Parks added 11 points, and Cameron Gisler scored seven.

For LaGrange Academy, Mason Brown and Alex Wilson each scored seven points, and Riley Hess added six points.

LaGrange Academy surged to a 19-2 lead after the first quarter on the way to a one-sided win in the girls’ game.

Kelsey Cotton scored 16 points to lead LaGrange Academy, and Ivey Portis and Sydney Edelson each scored seven points.

Abbey Hudson led Lafayette Christian with 12 points.
