The Troup Tigers brought home the championship.

Troup’s wrestling team competed in the Hewitt Trussville Duals on Wednesday, and it captured the championship with a 5-0 record.

The tournament was held in Trussville, Ala.

Troup’s wins came against Helena (61-18), Moody (51-21), Thompson (39-33), Oak Mountain (54-24) and Bob Jones (55-24).

Troup’s unbeaten wrestlers were Pearson Strickland, Trevor Upchurch, Chase Seals, Scott Hicks, Quenton Kersey, Byron Butts and Colby Harry.

Troup will return to the mat on Tuesday when it hosts a tri-meet.
