NEWNAN — Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Newnan will share its Drive-Thru Nativity, “The Greatest Gift,” again this year.

The drive-thru nativity will be presented this year from 6 to 9:30 p.m. nightly Thursday, Dec. 7 through Sunday, Dec. 10.

“Cornerstone’s drive-thru nativity is all about the greatest gift ever given, the birth of Jesus,” said Paul Griffin, Project Chairman and Cornerstone UMC member.  “We want the community to see, hear and experience the real meaning of Christmas.  For some it’s a reminder and for some it may be the first time they learn of the true meaning of Christmas.  We are excited to again share this free presentation with the community.”

People will receive a narration CD at the entrance of the drive-thru, and each car will be guided on a ten-scene journey depicting the birth of Jesus.  The scenes include the foretelling of the coming Messiah, the angel Gabriel’s visit to Mary, Caesar’s palace and the decree for the census, Mary and Joseph being turned away at the Inn, the Wise men on the way to Bethlehem and the traditional Nativity scene, among others.

A nightly cast and crew of 130 plus people will help tell the story. Coffee and hot chocolate will be served throughout the evening under the church pavilion.

“This is Cornerstone’s gift to the community, there is no charge,” Griffin said.  “At Cornerstone we want to spread God’s message, and what better way to do that than through telling the awesome story of the greatest gift ever given.”

The drive-thru nativity will take place at Cornerstone United Methodist Church at 2956 Highway 154 in Newnan. Drive-thru nativity times are from 6 to 9:30 p.m.

There is no charge to attend. For more information, please visit
