Mrs. Virginia Brazeal McCracken of Roswell, Georgia passed away peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 28th, 2017, after 90 years of a full and happy life.

Born in Carroll County, Georgia, she was the youngest daughter of William Thomas Brazeal and Emmie Ivee Rogers. She grew up with her sisters and brothers, Nellie, Ruby, Grady and Roy.

Virginia attended Bowden High School, and continued to actively participate in her high school reunions for many years. She attended West Georgia College, and then transferred to Georgia State University in Atlanta where she met and married her husband, Bill McCracken. In her early career, Virginia worked for Pillsbury and Firestone.

She later assisted her husband with managing his private family practice clinic in Woodstock, Georgia and supported him in his future career as a psychiatrist in the Atlanta area.  She and Bill raised a closely devoted family, who continue to carry on the important traditions of enjoying each other and living full lives.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William C. McCracken, M.D. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Ivy and Randall Foley, Kathryn and Buster Spriggs, Venetia and Bob Roy and Mark and Anne McCracken; her grandchildren and their spouses, Tyler and Sonrisa Howey, Cole and Matrika Howey, Kevin Foley, Allison Foley, Parks Sparrow, Kelly and Will Smith, and Kristen and Andy Yap; her great-grandchildren, Sophia Kirk, Lincoln Howey, Odin Howey, Ethan Yap, Emma Yap, Brody Smith, Reese Smith; her sister-in-law Grace McCracken; her nieces and nephews, Will McCracken, Patricia Sinatra McCracken, Amanda Brazeal Babcock and Dale Babcock, and Don and Cynthia Brazeal. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017.
