Arthur Ransom

Arthur Ransom passed away Saturday.

He was born April 19, 1965, to Eula M. Ransom and the late, George H. Ransom in Pine Mountain, Georgia.

Arthur graduated in 1983 from Troup High and attended Columbus State. For many years, he worked as a DJ; Troup County 911, sold cars, LaGrange police officer, a referee for many sports events and sheriff officer with Troup County. But most important of all, a man of God.

Arthur accepted Christ at an early age where he united with New Solomon Grove Baptist Church in Pine Mountain, Georgia.

Survivors include his wife, Carla Ransom; six children:  Alexis Ransom, Zackery (Brittany) Ransom, Destiny Harmon, Hannah (Evin) Diaz, Joshua Ransom and Adam James Ransom “A. J.”; four grandchildren; mother, Eula M. Ransom; seven siblings, George H. (Pricilla) Ransom, Jr., Jimmy Ransom, Patricia (Jerome “Rock”) Woodyard, Althea (Gregory) Bing, Dorothea (Tretorian) Smith, Jerome Ellison; mother-in-law, Helen Dobbs; father-in-law, Wayne (Holly) Abbott; two brothers-in-law, Philip (Sara) Abbott and Will Abbott; three sisters-in-law, Jessica (Ronnie) Pagan, Anglea Sobik, and Kayley Abbott; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

The service will be Wednesday at noon at New Community Church.

The family will be at 85 North Barnard Avenue and will receive family and friends in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
