It was an easy night for the LaGrange Academy Lady Warriors, who overwhelmed visiting Cottage School 47-11 on Thursday.

The Lady Warriors improved to 5-2 overall, and they remained 2-1 in GISA Region 1-AA.

The Lady Warriors started a bit slowly with four points in the first quarter, but they exploded for 18 points in the second quarter to take an 18-4 lead at the half.

The story was much the same in the second half, and LaGrange Academy coach Mel Major was able to empty the bench and get everyone some playing time.

All 10 players who were in uniform got some time on the court, and eight of them scored.

Kelsey Cotton, who has had an outstanding eight-grade season, led the Lady Warriors with 12 points.

Fellow eighth-grader Sydney Edelson added eight points, and Sarah Blair Atkins and Ruthie Kelsey had six points apiece.

LaGrange Academy was coming off a 37-29 loss to Notre Dame on Tuesday in a region game.

Ivy Portis led LaGrange Academy with 10 points, and Cotton and Edelson had six points apiece.
