The LaGrange-Troup County Humane Society and LaGrange Animal Shelter joined forces to try to find local animals the ultimate Christmas present on Saturday: a forever home.

Only three kittens went to their new homes as part of the event, but the humane society reports above average adoptions for this December compared to the last three years, with 14 dogs finding homes.

“We are happy to be able to get them adopted and help them find their permanent, forever homes,” said Mandi Bono, the executive director of the humane society.

There were five dogs from the humane society impatiently waiting to meet their new families and more than two dozen on the shelter side as of Saturday. If you would like the opportunity to meet with the dogs, they are currently staying at the humane society at 1390 Orchard Hill Road which is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Dogs currently at the LaGrange-Troup County Humane Society can also be seen at
