Lady Tigers head to Haralson County

The Troup Lady Tigers will tune up for the start of region play next week by playing a pair of games in a tournament at Haralson County.

The red-hot Lady Tigers, who have won four consecutive games, will play today and Friday in the Hilburn-Patterson Haralson County Invitational.

First up for Troup will be today’s game against Bremen, with tip-off set for 6:30 p.m.

In today’s other game, it will be Central-Carroll playing Haralson County.

The winners of today’s games will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday for the tournament championship, while the losers will play at 3:30 p.m.

The Lady Tigers opened the season with losses in two of their first three games, but they haven’t lost since.

Since falling to Newnan 40-32, Troup has beaten Heard County and  Callaway once apiece and Kendrick twice.

In its most recent game, Troup beat Callaway 48-40, with sophomore post player Amber Gilbert leading the way with 13 points while making 8-of-12 attempts from the free-throw line.

Jedda Madden added 11 points, Kiya Fulton scored nine points, and Aundracia Riggins had eight points.

After this tournament, Troup will turn its attention to the start of Region 5-AAAA play.

Troup will begin its region schedule at home against Chapel Hill on Tuesday.
