VALLEY — The ribbon was cut Thursday on Lee’s Medical Store & Accessories, located at 11 Medical Park, Valley, as members of the city, staff and chamber of commerce gathered to honor the grand opening.

Owner Jacobie Dardy opened her store recently, and as workers were still placing display hangers, was honored by members of the Greater Valley Area Chamber of Commerce.

“I’m glad to see Jacobie take on a new endeavor,” said Ashley Crane, Greater Valley Area Chamber of Commerce executive director. “We first met Jacobie when she first contacted us about her assisted living and adult day care center in Lanett. Now she’s expanding her business into the Valley area and we are so thankful of you for being such an entrepreneur.”

Following a short prayer, Valley Mayor Leonard Riley spoke.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome Jacobie to our business community,” he said. “We are always here to support new businesses in our community.”

Citing the recent announcement of John Soules Food locating a facility in Valley, Riley expounded on the growth the area has seen recently.

“Our revenues have been good and we know yours will be too,” he said. “Welcome to our business community.”

Following the mayor, Dardy herself spoke, thanking him for his kind words and God for his blessing.

“I thank God for how he has moved me,” she said. “I started with the assisted living home and adult daycare in Lanett and I’ve been going through a lot but now it’s finally moving.”

Dardy noted that she has served the community for some time.
