Southern Life Insurance Group hosted a ribbon cutting to celebrate its new location at 210 Broome Street on Friday.

The business originally opened its doors five years ago, but the growing business needed more space. They were able to find that space on the other side of the parking lot that serves some of LaGrange’s oldest businesses, including Solomon’s and Charlie Joseph’s.

“We started Southern Life May 2013, so this is a relocation,” said Crystal Poe, vice president of sales and marketing. “We used to be just a few blocks down.”

Southern Life helps customers with life insurance, Medicare supplements, Medicare advantage and prescription drug plans. It works with carriers like Mutual of Omaha, Aetna, Humana, Royal Neighbors of America and Gerber.

“We are so happy to have you in this wonderful, beautiful location,” Chamber President Page Estes said. “It shows a lot about the family atmosphere that you’ve been able to build your team here. We know that you are growing all across the Southeast, and you are able to keep your roots here, especially in downtown LaGrange.”

Meanwhile, the business owners are just thankful for the support.

“We’re thankful to be here,” said Nick Poe, the president and owner of Southern Life Insurance Group. “I am happy to continue to grow.
