For the first time this season, the Callaway Cavaliers are on a winning streak.

Callaway won at Lamar County 61-48 on Friday to improve to 3-5 in Region 5-AA.

Lamar County beat Callaway 60-54 earlier this season.

“I’m very pleased,” Callaway head coach Terry Hayes said. “Our intensity level stayed up. It carried over from Tuesday (against Heard County).”

Ja’Vontay Boddie led Callaway with 16 points, and Antinez Blount and DQ Wilkerson added 12 points apiece.

In Friday’s girls’ game, Callaway fell to 5-3 in the region with a 74-58 loss.

Haley Holliday and Qua Beasley led Callaway with 14 points apiece.

Leijorey Sanders scored 10 points, and Chyna Cameron and Kierra Jackson each had eight points.
