Ruth Marlene Hale Eaton, of LaGrange, passed away on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice. She was born on April 30, 1934, to the late, Loyd Hale and Effie Knott Hale.

She worked for Mansours as a switchboard operator. She also had a daycare in her home for many years and was a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church.

Mrs. Eaton loved arts and crafts, gardening and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Eaton Sr.; grandson, Andy Yarbrough; and sister, Dorothy Washington. Survivors include her daughters, Belinda Thompson (LaVaughn), Cynthia Sims (Carl); son, Douglas Eaton (Dana); brother, L.C. Hale (Shirley); grandchildren, Bryan Griffin (Bette), Michael Griffin, Paige Clifton, Bobby Sims (Leola), Katie Brackett, Emily Adams, Kaitlin Eaton; great grandchildren, Lane Griffin, Mackenzie Griffin, Kadence Griffin, Carson Griffin, Hayden Griffin, Hannah Clifton, Jackson Brackett, Sloane Sims, Baylor Adams, Easton Adams; several nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. 

The family had visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel. Funeral services were held the following day in our chapel starting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018.  The Rev. Andy Buchanan officiated. The family greeted friends and family after the service.
