Mr. Lamar Ragland, 42, of Franklin, Georgia, passed away Saturday morning Feb. 10, 2018, at Grady Memorial Hospital as the result of injuries received in a work related accident.  Lamar was born Larry Lamar Ragland, Sept.3, 1975, the son of the late Tilman Ragland and Betty Hyatt Ragland Caswell.  Lamar was a traffic control manager for the C. W. Matthews Construction Company.

Survivors include: his mother and father, Betty and Donald Caswell, Franklin, Georgia; son, Jakob Lamar Ragland, Franklin, Georgia; daughter, Jazlyn Jason Smith,  Hogansville, Georgia; three brothers, Robert Charles Ragland, Franklin, Georgia, Paul and Emmie Rose Ragland, Conyers, Georgia, Tilman Chase Ragland,  Franklin, Georgia; special brother, Brian Dean Howard, Crestview, Florida; uncles and aunts, Larry Jack and Wife Pam Hyatt, Chambers County, Alabama, Mike Hyatt,  Heard County, Jimmy and Brenda Mesick; nieces and nephews,  Faith Ragland,  Joey Allen White III, Shyan  Ragland; cousins, Tabitha Hyatt Ginther, Michael Hyatt, Kendall Hyatt, Dale DeLamar, Cynthia DeLamar, Michael DeLamar, David DeLamar, Glover Malone DeLamar III, Chris Hyatt, Sonya Hyatt, Sally George, Melissa Bailey, Michael Mesick and many others.

Funeral services for Mr. Lamar Ragland will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the chapel of the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn Janney officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home (Wednesday) evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
