SUWANEE – The LaGrange Grangers beat Lambert 7-4 on Saturday morning to win their second consecutive game before falling to Mill Creek 2-1 later in the day.

Both games were played at Lambert High.

After losing its first four games this season, LaGrange beat Columbus 1-0 last week, and it followed that up with Saturday morning’s win over Lambert.

LaGrange was down 2-0 after the first inning, but it plated four runs in the top of the second to take a lead it wouldn’t relinquish.

The Grangers added a single run in the fourth inning, and two more in the sixth.

LaGrange banged out 10 hits, and Charles Crawford had two of them to go along with two RBIs.

Leadoff hitter Cole Freeman had a hit and two RBIs, and Brant Williams and Ben Farrar each had a hit and an RBI.

Will Alford had two hits, Walton Lanier had a double, and Wesley Kuhn and Trent Bailey each had a hit.

Williams started and pitched the first 3 1/3 innings and was the winner, and Lanier threw the next 2 2/3 innings, and he didn’t allow any earned runs.

John Morgan needed just eight pitches to pitch a perfect seventh inning.

In the second game, Ben Stogner got the start for LaGrange, and he was terrific.

The senior threw 4 1/3 innings, and he held Mill Creek to two hits and one run.

Cole Sanders and Morgan combined for 2 2/3 scoreless innings, and Kuhn allowed one run in the seventh inning.

Freeman had a double and an RBI for LaGrange, and Seth Prather, Lanier and Farrar each had one hit.
