They’ve reached the halfway point.

With Tuesday’s games, all of the teams in Region 5-AAAA have made it to the midpoint of their region schedules.

Each of the teams has played six region games, and they’ve each got six more to go.

The top four teams will qualify for the state playoffs, and the teams in first and second will host a playoff series.

So far, things are going well for the Troup Tigers and LaGrange Grangers, who are both solidly in the playoff race.

With its 11-8 win over Sandy Creek on Tuesday, Troup is 5-1 in the region, and it is one game behind Cartersville (6-0).

Cartersville beat Troup 5-0 last week, and those two teams will play again next month.

LaGrange, which beat Chapel Hill 5-1 on Tuesday, is 4-2 in the region, and it is in third place, two games ahead of Central-Carroll (2-4) and Cedartown (2-4).

Sandy Creek (1-5) and Chapel Hill (1-5) are tied for fifth place, although they’re both still very much in the playoff race.

Here are the region standings, along with the schedule for each of the teams the remainder of the week.
