Mr. Robert W. Clausing

Robert W. Clausing, Sr., 97, of LaGrange, Georgia passed away Friday, March 30, 2018, at Hospice LaGrange.

Mr. Clausing was born May 1, 1920, in Gowanda, Illinois, son of the late William Clausing and Eda Meyer Clausing.  He was a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y. Mr. Clausing proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, serving in World War II, and later was employed with Sperry Rand Corporation as engineering manager before retiring. Mr. Clausing was a member of First Baptist Church on the Square, LaGrange, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth S. Clausing, and his second wife, Lillian Garrett Clausing.

Survivors include his daughter, Margaret Kelly of Williamsville, Illinois; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; close friend and caregiver, Steve Jackson; and many other extended family members.

Celebration of life services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018, in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, Georgia with Dr. Paul Baxter and the Rev. Cade Farris officiating. A private burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Huntsville, Alabama.  The gathering of family and friends will be on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to First Baptist Church on the Square, LaGrange, Georgia in memory of Mr. Robert W. Clausing, Sr.
