Grangers fall short on road

The LaGrange Grangers went on the road and fell to Greenbrier 9-5 on Tuesday afternoon.
After giving up five runs in the bottom of the second inning, LaGrange got within one with a pair of runs in the top of the third, but Greenbrier pulled away from there for the win.
LaGrange managed six hits against a trio of Greenbrier pitchers.
Cole Freeman and Will Alford combined for four of those hits.
Freeman, hitting in the number two spot in the order, had two hits, including a double, and he drove in a run.
Freeman also walked and scored a run.
Alford had two hits with a double, and he had an RBI.
Trent Bailey added an RBI single, and leadoff hitter Charles Crawford had a hit, a walk, and he scored three runs.
John Morgan, Ben Stogner and Cole Sanders each pitched for LaGrange.
Matthew Chester had a home run and three RBIs for Greenbrier.
LaGrange finishes the week with two games against Starr’s Mill.
The two teams play at LaGrange on Friday, and Starr’s Mill will be the home team on Saturday.
