The first concert of Sweetland’s Summer Concert Series will kick off the weekend on Friday, and there will be more fun to be had as the weekend carries on.

Morris Day & The Time with special guest The Gap Experience will perform at Sweetland Amphitheatre on Friday. Day was a founding member of Prince’s band, the Time, and the band is well known for hits like Jungle Love and Love Machine.The Gap Experience is a rhythm and funk band.

“Sweetland is beyond excited to kick off the 2018 Summer Concert Series with Morris Day & The Time this Friday,” said Keyal Loveland, the director of Sweetland Amphitheatre. “We look forward to a fantastic night at Sweetland with great music and wonderful food.”

Food vendors including Kimble’s, 505 Eats, Proposito Gourmet Taco Truck and Atlanta Seafood Company will sell food on site.

The fun will continue on Saturday when Wild Leap Brew Co. will host a grilled cheese showdown from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event will feature live music, one day only Wild Leap brews, games and grilled cheese sandwiches. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit Wildleap.com.
