Eight teams will be vying for top honors in the USA South baseball tournament that begins on Wednesday.

The double-elimination tournament continues through Saturday, with the championship game set for noon at LaGrange College.

The tournament games will be played at Cleaveland Field at Phil Williamson Stadium on the LaGrange College campus, and at Point University’s stadium in West Point.

Methodist secured the number one seed for the tournament with a 14-3 record, and Piedmont is the number two seed at 14-4.

Ferrum (10-7) and Huntingdon (10-7) are seeded third and fourth, respectively, and North Carolina Wesleyan (10-8) is seeded fifth.

LaGrange College (10-8) is the number six seed, Maryville (10-8) is seeded seventh, and William Peace (9-9) is the eighth seed.

All eight teams will play a single game on Wednesday, with two games at noon, and two games at 3:30 p.m.

At noon, William Peace and Methodist will play at LaGrange College, and N.C. Wesleyan and Huntingdon meet in West Point.

At 3:30 p.m., it’ll be LaGrange College and Ferrum playing in West Point, and Maryville and Piedmont face off at LaGrange College.

The conference champion earns an automatic invitation to the NCAA Division III national tournament.
