The LaGrange Grangers are playoff-bound.
LaGrange beat Central-Carroll 7-4 on Thursday to improve to 6-3 in Region 5-AAAA and secure one of the region’s four playoff berths.
LaGrange will likely finish as the number three seed, meaning it would be on the road for the opening round of the state playoffs.
LaGrange has three region games remaining, including today’s home showdown with Cartersville, which is unbeaten in region play.
Central-Carroll made LaGrange work for it on Thursday.
Trailing 4-1, the Lions scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull even.
LaGrange went back on top with three runs in the top of the seventh, and John Morgan pitched a scoreless bottom of the seventh to finish it.
Brant Williams started for LaGrange, and he threw two innings and gave up two hits and one run before turning the game over to Morgan.
Morgan limited Central to four hits and two earned runs, and he didn’t walk anyone.
LaGrange got it done offensively with 10 hits, and Will Alford and Cole Crawford each had two hits.
One of Alford’s hits was a double, and Crawford had an RBI.
Ben Farrar had a hit and an RBI, Williams had a double and an RBI, and Charles Crawford, Seth Prather and Morgan each had a hit.
