LaGrange soccer teams tune up for showdown

After dropping a 1-0 decision earlier in the week, LaGrange High’s boys’ soccer team bounced back for a 3-1 road win over Northside-Columbus on Friday.

In the win over Northside, Liam McDonald had LaGrange’s first goal on an assist from Jimmy Cancino.

Max Halcomb had the second goal on an assist from McDonald, and Logan Lopez capped the scoring with Cancino providing the assist.

On Tuesday, LaGrange lost to Alexander 1-0 in its first game back after spring break.

It was a scoreless game until Alexander scored in the final five minutes.

LaGrange’s girls’ team lost to Alexander 3-2 and Northside 6-2.

In the Alexander game, Sydney Ormsby and Maggie Asbell scored for LaGrange.

Against Northside, Ormsby scored both of LaGrange’s goals, and Caroline Thompson and Asbell had the assists.

CALLAWAY: Callaway’s girls’ team scored three first-half goals on the way to a 4-2 victory over South Paulding on Friday.

Cheney Eubanks and Kelly Carlisle each scored a pair of goals for Callaway.

Callaway’s boys’ team fell to South Paulding 2-1, with Hunter Williamson scoring his team’s lone goal.

Earlier in the week, Callaway’s teams lost to Harris County.

In the boys’ game, Ian Bryan and Tyler Lewis scored in the 6-2 loss.

Callaway’s girls’ team lost to Harris County 9-0.
