It is time to learn about the candidates

Tomorrow is the final day to register to vote in the Georgia State Primary, and a week from now, April 30, will be the first day of early voting.

If you don’t know who to vote for though, and want a more in depth look at the candidates than the announcements that the LaGrange Daily News has been printing for the last few weeks, the best option will also start on April 30.

The LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce will host a candidate forum for the Troup County commission chairman and the board of education district 7 at Del’avant at 6 p.m. Candidates will answer questions on the races at the forum.

Then on May 1, the chamber will host a forum featuring candidates for Georgia State Senate district 29 and Georgia House of Representatives district 133 at Del’avant at 6 p.m. These candidates for the state race will share their views on state and local issues and how they connect.

We encourage everyone who can attend these events to do so, and for those unable to attend, we will feature the highlights of the forum in the  LaGrange Daily News.

We also encourage everyone to vote by May 21. It is the best way to make your voice heard.
