Mrs. Mavis Hill Dollar

Mrs. Mavis Hill Dollar, 87, of the Harrisonville Community, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Mrs. Dollar was born May 3, 1930, in Heard County, daughter of the late Frank and Lera Morgan Hill. A resident of Harrisonville most of her life, she was a charter member of Harrisonville Baptist Church and retired as a supervisor from the Dunson Division of West Point Pepperell. She enjoyed gardening and fishing, but caring for and being with her family was the most important part of her life. 

Survivors include her son, Jack L. Dollar of Hogansville; grandchildren, Brannon Dollar of Woodstock, Angela and Joe Hamilton, and Julie Dollar, all of LaGrange; great-grandchildren, Joseph and Bailee Hamilton, Lily Hamilton, Paige Pannell and Brayden Dollar. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack S. Dollar; son, Frank C. Dollar; and sister, Vivian Betts.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Friday, in the chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. Mr. Eddie Wood and the Rev. Eddie Perry will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday night.
