Lucy Walker Slaughter passed away Thursday.

She was born Feb. 1, 1961, to Louise McCullough Walker and the late, Eugene Walker in Chambers County, Alabama. She became a faithful member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. She graduated from Valley High School and was employed by Mansour’s for many years and later InterFace.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Slaughter; children, Rodriguez M. Walker, Thomas (Amaryllis) Walker, Brea S. Walker, Minister MaKeyda (Latacha) Hardnett and Morris (Tyquisha) Slaughter; her mother, Louise Walker; brother, Gregory (Teresa) Walker; niece, Christina E. Walker; mother-in-law, Bertha Mae Brewer; aunts, Eleise Carter, Nancy Cochran, Estella Davis; uncle, William Walker; and a host of cousins and friends.

The service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Valley Grove Baptist Church.

The family will be at their home at 135 S Kight Drive.
