Troup County Roads and Engineering announced Monday that Tom Hall Parkway and Old South Davis Road are open to traffic.
Troup County’s contractor opened Tom Hall Parkway and Old South Davis Road between State Road 219 Whitesville Road and State Road 1 — also known as U.S. 27 or Hamilton Road — as construction nears completion. The construction project is not complete, but the roads have been opened to traffic.
As with all road construction, motorists are advised to use extra caution in work zones. Slow down, stay alert, pay attention and obey all work zone and advisory signs.
Tom Hall Parkway is a 1.45 mile stretch of road that will begin at the intersection of Pegasus Parkway and Whitesville Road, cross Buck Murphy Road and end on South Davis Road. The road was named after late City Manager Tom Hall in October 2016 to honor his work to bring Great Wolf Lodge to the area, and it was funded by the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.
South Davis Road has been closed since January 30.
