WEST POINT — West Point Fine Arts will be hosting its premier art exhibit on Friday, May 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the old Craft Master Furniture building.

The free art exhibit is open to the public and many of the original works and prints will also be available for purchase.

The upcoming West Point Fine Arts exhibit seeks to provide this introduction, serving as an opportunity for the community to connect with local artists.

“We want visitors to have an opportunity to view works of art in a vibrant setting, where they can mingle while having a glass of wine and hors d’oeuvres,” said Thea McElvy, director of West Point Fine Arts.

Downtown West Point restaurants will offer a 10 percent discount on the evening of the exhibit. To receive the discount, visit downtown restaurants with a West Point Fine Arts event brochure. Pokey’s 8th Street Grill, Coach’s Bar and Grill, Johnny’s Pizza, Miso Sushi House, and Joe’s Tex-Mex are all participating.

“West Point Fine Arts is grateful for all the donations made through GoFundMe, enabling the purchase display panels, lighting, printing, etc.,” McElvy said.

She also gave a special thank you to Mayor Trammell for accommodations in the Craft Master building.

“Our 18 participating artists are looking forward to meeting you and sharing their work with you. We are all counting on your support,” McElvy said.
