Mr. Roland Dean Martin, 86, of LaGrange, Georgia, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018, at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Martin was born Dec. 25, 1931, in Clay City, Ohio to the late Roscoe E. Martin and Elima Alithea Purdy Martin. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a radio and sonar 0perator, receiving numerous commendations decorations.

Mr. Martin was a graduate of Georgia Tech and Georgia State University and retired from Milliken & Company after many faithful years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Windy Martin Lupien.

Survivors include his wife, Alma Marie Davis Martin; daughters, Melissa “Missy” (Tim) Herndon and April (Gary) Franke; grandchildren, Dustin Herndon, Haley Herndon Smith, Patrick, Sam and John Franke; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Ft. Mitchell Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in memory of Roland Dean Matin.
