A 21-year-old LaGrange man died Saturday morning in a single vehicle accident on Georgia Highway 14.

Austin Lee Shaddix died when the Ford F150 truck he was driving went across the other lane of traffic and hit a tree head on, according to the Georgia State Patrol accident report. The vehicle traveled another 25 feet after collision and came to rest on its passenger side.  The accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning. 

According to the report, the vehicle and driver were consumed by fire, and Shaddix was declared dead at the scene. 

It was unclear if he was wearing a safety belt.
