Mrs. Mary Lorene Carden Justice Hamil

Mrs. Mary Lorene Carden Justice Hamil, 94, of LaGrange, Georgia, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Hospice LaGrange.  She was a wonderful Christian woman who was loved and will be missed by all.

Mrs. Hamil was born May 22, 1924, in Roanoke, Alabama, daughter of the late Edward N. Carden and Pearl Thrower Carden. She has been a resident of LaGrange all her life and was very active in the community. Mrs. Hamil was an active member of Hilyer Baptist Church and was employed with Play-Tex Manufacturing Company before retiring. In addition to her parents and her husbands, Robert Justice, Harvey McClurg, Cecil Pittman, Ellis Duke and Dunward Hamil, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Carden Randall, a brother, James E. Carden, and stepson, Bobby Justice.

Survivors include a brother, Lewis (Doris) Carden; nieces, Patsy Johns, Marcia Foster, Cynthia Tomblin and Karen Samples; nephews James Carden and Jimmie Carden; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2018, in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with the Rev. Cleve Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens. The gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
