Commissioners approve new meeting time for planning and zoning board

The Troup County Board of Commissioners voted on Tuesday to change the regular meeting time for the Troup County Board of Planning and Zoning.
The board of commissioners voted to allow the board of planning and zoning to change their regular meeting time from the second Thursday of the month to the third Thursday of the month. During discussion on the change, County Planner Tracie Hadaway noted that the new time would have fewer conflicts with the board of commissioners’ work session.
- The commission approved the submission of a grant application for FEMA reimbursement for 78.5 percent of the county’s expenses from Hurricane Irma cleanup.
- The commission voted to approve the Troup County School System millage rate. The commission does not get to decide on the TCSS millage rate, but the commission is required to approve the millage rate that the school board passes.
- Approved budget amendments for the Health Services budget, Multi Grant Fund and the Date Fund.
The Troup County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to meet again on July 17 at 9 a.m. at 100 Ridley Avenue.
