Marty Carter, a LaGrange High graduate who spent 12 successful seasons in the NFL, has earned a place in the Middle Tennessee Blue Raider Hall of Fame.

Carter was a member of the Middle Tennessee football program from 1998 to 1990 before beginning his NFL career.

Carter was the Ohio Valley Conference defensive player of the year as a senior, and he led the team to back-to-back conference titles his final two years.

Carter, a defensive back, played for four different teams in the NFL, including the Atlanta Falcons.

Carter spent his first four seasons in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Carter had back-to-back seasons when he had more than 100 tackles, and he had three interceptions in 1992.

Carter was with the Chicago Bears from 1995 to 1998, and he started 63 of 64 games and was one of the team’s top defensive players.

In three of those four years Carter was the Bears’ leading tackler, and he had three interceptions in 1996.

Carter played for his home-state Falcons in 1999 and 2000, and part of the 2001 season.

Carter was with the Detroit Lions in 2001 for the final four games of his playing career.
