LaGrange falls short at Bowdon

LaGrange High’s softball team stepped out of region play and fell to Bowdon 4-2 on Wednesday.
It was tied 2-2 when Bowdon scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, and LaGrange was unable to answer.
Jacee Marable had a hit and an RBI for LaGrange, and Hannah Karcher, Kadaysha Griffin and Madison Dennis each had a hit.
Macee Stone started and pitched the first five innings, and Camden Smith relieved her and got the final three outs.
LaGrange scored single runs in the first and fourth innings to take a 2-1 lead.
Bowdon tied it with a run in the fifth, and it took the lead with the two sixth-inning runs.
LaGrange, which opened its Region 5-AAAA schedule with a win over Cedartown on Tuesday, is off until Tuesday when it hosts Troup.
VOLLEYBALL: Troup swept past Shaw on Wednesday in its home opener.
Troup won the first game 25-22, and it won the second game by the same score to secure the win.
