Planning your future

What I love about real estate is that each day is a different adventure.

On Monday, we had a 75-year-old lady come in to buy a house for $15,000 over in Alabama. She had a gentlemen friend that was just a friend that is loaning her the money.

What made this so cool is what he said he wanted on the loan deed:

“In case I die before she pays me back, the debt is paid in full because I will be in Heaven! I will not need the money.”

I had a good laugh, and I said, “You are serious, I believe.”

He said, “Yes, I am.”

He is about 80. Pretty smart. He said he would not be here to sign it paid in full.

I have not talked with the lawyer to find out how he is going to handle this, but I will say the man had all his ducks in a row and believed the right thing.

Wouldn’t this be a great world if we all had that great attitude about where we are going when we die?

I have 100 percent confidence that he will go to heaven. It made my day just talking to him. Where am I going with this?

I had two friends die of a heart attack this week. Both were good family men. Tomorrow is not promised. Go to church because it is a great place to plan your future travel.

May God bless!
