David Hammett passed away Tuesday.

He was born Dec. 18, 1945, in LaGrange, Georgia, to Hilliard Hammett, Sr. and Susie Mae Motin Hammett.

He was previously employed by First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Hammett; children, Gladson Hammett, Isaac Hammett, Karriem (Chris) Gray and Shahidah (Woody) Gray; several grandchildren; two brothers,  Charles Hammett and Willie “JoJo” (Virginia) Hammett.

The service will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Confidence Baptist Church.

The family will be at their home at 500 Milam Street.

The excellent care of Mr. Hammett is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
