The Lafayette Christian School Cougars will look to make it three in a row when they host Cherokee Christian today.
Lafayette Christian improved to 2-0 with last week’s 48-0 road win over Georgia Christian, and it opened the season with a 37-32 victory over Central Fellowship.
With a win today, Lafayette Christian would match last year’s win total.
Cherokee Christian is also 2-0.
After blanking Life Christian Academy 6-0 to open the season, Cherokee Christian beat the South Carolina Titans 26-6 last week.
In last week’s blowout win, the Cougars got it done with a dominating ground game, with four players combining for more than 300 yards.
Quarterback Landon Whitley led the way with 14 carries for 125 yards and two touchdowns.
Cason Firth ran for 99 yards on eight carries with a touchdown, and Mitch Crandall ran the ball eight times for 61 yards with a touchdown.
Ben Dixon added 51 yards on 12 attempts with two touchdowns.
