Essence of life

As you get older, there are a few gray hairs and life becomes simpler. Your family and friends are your priorities every single day. Every day I am praying for people on Facebook who I may never have met, but they are dear to my friends.

As you get older, the new car is less important. You like the one you have and maybe you get more pleasure in giving more to your church than in getting that new car. As you turn the corners in life, your whole mindset about what is important is different. As you mature, you have an enhancing of your spiritual life, being a better parent is more important or you want to be the  best spouse you can be. What is my point?

Surround yourself with people that you love and people that love you. Love, simply stated, is the essence of life. It puts a smile on your face and joy in your heart.

Take time to tell your family how much you love them, and they are important.

People want to know that so do not miss any opportunities to tell your inner circle how much they mean to you. As Franklin P. Jones said “Love doesn’t make the world go ‘round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.” Please take time to tell people how special they are to you because tomorrow may not come for all at the party tonight.

Having that Wow factor in life

Wow Factor! Do you give it away? You should, start today with your spouse. Ladies, you can get in on the act too! Louise is always cooking me that special meal and watching out to keep it healthy.

That is a wow factor that is important to me. Find time to go on a picnic by the lake or creek with a sandwich, just be young again.

Something fun is going for a morning walk at West Point Lake, watching the sunrise together and seeing the ducks sitting on the lake. You can sit down, close your eyes and just listen to the sounds all around you.

When was the last time you took the time to wow your favorite person, your spouse? My friend, Teresa, wows hundreds each week when she takes great outdoor pictures and shares them with all her Facebook friends. Make up your mind for the next 30 days to try to wow everyone you’re around and start with your spouse.

Men, stop and buy some roses. You can take the time to write your own card about how special she is to you and have them on the kitchen counter. I just bet you will get a smile and maybe even a dance later on. Keep the wow factor going and brush up on the dance lessons.
