LaGrange falls to Central-Carroll

CARROLLTON – The LaGrange Grangers made things interesting late, but it was the Central-Carroll Lions hanging on for a 13-10 victory in the Region 5-AAAA opener for both teams.

Trailing 13-3, Charles Crawford threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Ogletree with 6:30 to play, and the extra point made it a three-point game.

The Lions were able to hold off the Grangers from there to get the home win.

LaGrange took the lead in the first half on a field goal by Kaleb Ceja, but Central-Carroll rallied to take a 13-3 lead at the break.

LaGrange will host Cedartown on Thursday.

LAFAYETTE CHRISTIAN: The Cougars earned a 42-26 road win over Central-Carroll on Friday night.Landon Whitley had a touchdown pass to Mitchel Crandall, and the quarterback also had a scoring run.

Ben Dixon had two touchdown runs, and Jacob Karvelas had one scoring run.
