LaGrange High’s softball team pushed five runs across in the fourth inning on the way to a 5-1 victory over visiting Landmark Christian on Monday.

Landmark Christian took the lead with a single run in the top of the first inning, but it was held scoreless the rest of the way against LaGrange’s Camden Smith.

Smith threw a seven-inning complete game, and she held Landmark to four hits while striking out five.

LaGrange did all of its scoring in the bottom of the fourth inning.

With the bases loaded, Abby Vanhoose was hit by a pitch to deadlock the score at 1-1.

With the bags still full, Madison Dennis walked to drive in another run and give LaGrange a 2-1 lead.

After two runs scored on wild pitches, Malone Aldridge’s RBI single capped the five-run rally.

Aldridge, Macee Stone, Vanhoose and Holly Lynn each had hits for LaGrange.

LaGrange will visit Harris County on Wednesday before hosting Central-Carroll on Thursday in its Region 5-AAAA finale.

LaGrange (17-7 overall) brings an 8-3 region record into Thursday’s game.
