Troup cross-country teams prevail

Troup High’s boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams took the top spot in the Heard County Invitational on Thursday.
There were teams from five schools participating.
In the boys’ race, Christian Gay finished third overall to pace Troup, and Lawson Lynd added a fifth-place finish.
Zach Taylor was 13th, Trey Ketchum placed 14th and Cade Parnell was 16th.
Also for Troup, Tyler Caldwell placed 21st, and Isaac Andrews was 26th.
On the girls’ side, Charlie Harry led Troup with a second-place finish, and Natalie Figel and Amanda McCartney were fourth and sixth, respectively.
Catherine Leveritt was 13th, and Anna Barintine placed 14th.
