Mrs. Evelyn W. Shumake, 100, of LaGrange passed away Friday, Oct. 5, at WellStar West Georgia Hospice. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and dedicated her life to taking care of children and grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Mike Cason of LaGrange; son and a daughter-in-law, Larry and Celeste Shumake of LaGrange; a daughter-in-law, Shelva and Greg Addison of LaGrange; four granddaughters, Susan Blackburn, Christina (Scott) Warren, Sandee Campell, Jennifer (Kevin) Tenney; two grandsons, Mark Shumake, and Dr. David (Amy) Cason; 10 great grandchildren, Kyndall Cason, Molly Blackburn, Maddie Blackburn, Cason Blackburn, Colson Blackburn, Warren Duffey, Ben Cason, Pike Tenney and Collier Cason, Garrett Sprayberry, Austin (Madison) Warren, Cooper Warren and Colton Warren.

She is proceeded in death by her husband of 74 years, Mr. Grover Wilson Shumake; and her son, Tony Shumake.

Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn W. Shumake will be held at 3 p.m. Monday from the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home with Dr. David Cason officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home (Sunday) from 2 p.m. until the service hour of 3 p.m. The family will be at the home of Janice and Mike Cason 224 Avondale Drive.
