John Lee Boyd passed away Thursday.

He was born Nov. 10, 1951, in the Abbottsford Community of LaGrange, Georgia, to the late John Boyd, Sr. and Carrie Bell Heard Boyd.

He was employed by Uniroyal and Tye Striblings.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Boyd; daughter, Tonya Boyd; six children he reared as his own, Charlotte (Victor) Crowder, Tony Ferrell, Pamela (Mickey) Boyd, Kenneth (Regina) Ferrell, Anthony (Michelle) Ferrell, Michael Ferrell; sister, Linda Boyd; brothers, Kenneth B. Boyd and John B. Boyd Jr.; aunts, Susie Heard, Grace Huzzie and Neil Lindsey; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and best friend.

The service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Smyrna Baptist Church.

The family will be at their home at 1365 New Franklin Road.
